Popular businessman of TT Brothers fame, astute football administrator and former Welfare Manager of Accra Hearts of Oak SC, Mr. Isaac Tetteh, has condemned the current Ghana Football Association (GFA) and officials who seek their selfish interests rather than the maximum success of the nation.
Speaking to the media recently on the Black Stars’ participation in the FIFA World Cup 2026, he noted that, in the first place, Coach Otto Addo, who qualified the Black Stars to the competition, should not have been sacked, as he could have done better, because reaching the round of 32 is no achievement. When compared to 2010, when Ghana reached the quarter-finals.
According to Mr. Tetteh, he is not a racist but prefers the Ghanaian who qualified the team to lead the World Cup quest.
“If the football authorities were a bit patient and gave Otto Addo the full support and did not dictate to him, the team could have done better; at least he earned the nation over $10 million by the qualification,” he said.
He expressed that Ghana should have improved upon previous performances and not celebrate mediocrity.
He was sad that only one local player, in the person of Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, was featured, and that goes a long way against the local league, which is not encouraged to be competitive and attractive.
He mentioned the South African team at the World Cup with 90% local players because their league is of high and quality standard.
Mr. Tetteh said the leadership of Ghana Football must bow their heads in shame because for the past 30 years interest in the game and business of football has gone down, with only a few people taking advantage of the entire nation.
“People must do good business and work hard to live rather than engage in football corruption,” he stressed.
“In my family, if you are not doing well, we tell you to keep the good name rather than disgrace,” he noted.
TT Brothers, as he is known, said it is time the truth is told for things to get better because taxpayers cannot sit and watch the rot for long.
The founder of Pure Joy FC noted that the current Ghana Football Association (GFA) has not performed well to seek a third term in office.
He questioned why the GFA cannot make the local league attractive like the Black Stars.
“They think we are fools. We are not fools, but one day they will be accountable because you cannot plant corn and harvest cassava,” he expressed.
He identified that Ghana has gone down. 30 years behind while others are developing.
