President of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation,, Hon. Jerry Ahmed Shaib on Wednesday announced that Ghana will host the 2025 African Junior Weightlifting Championship.
He said the event will come off in August with many countries to be represented.
President of the Ghana Olympic Committee Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah said Ghana is among the top five in Africa and the achievement is due to sustained efforts by executives of the Federation and a few partners.
He prayed that corporate Ghana will support the upcoming continental Championship
Meanwhile the Minister of Sports and Recreation Hon. Kofi Adams has commended the Ghana Weightlifting Federation for winning Ghana’s first medal at the 13th African Games and also the first to engage him in his official duties.
He was hopeful of a successful event and participation of Ghanaians and business people.
