Boxing fans sit in rain to watch as Baubali bows to the beast, Dickso

Ghanaian boxing fans braved the drizzle on Saturday to watch Jacob ‘The Beast’ Dickson, a former National Cruiserweight Champion, dominate the outspoken Ernest Akushey, also known as Baubali. The exciting boxing match, titled “Monaco: The Night to Prove,” took place at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

After the massive hype at densely populated places like Gbese, Buko, and Chorkor, the bout lived up to its billing with both boxers dishing out a good performance, and the fans cheered their idols.

Bronx Boxing Club presented most of the boxers featured by SEM Promotions, with Hafiz Damba,  Abubakar Kamoko, aka Ambitious Tilapia, and  Solomon Sampson. John ‘Expensive’ Laryea and Daniel Gorsh (The Emperor) registering sweet knock-out victories.

Prison officer Musah Lawson had to sweat before winning against Patrick Cudjoe of the Wisdom Boxing Gym for the National Super Welterweight title.

Kevin Abraham Carter of Fit Trip Gym also showed some skills and power to win by knockout.

Joseph Sackey also won to make his church members and family happy.

The 13 bouts billed, plus amateur and juvenile fights laced with entertainment, were marvellous as Awel One Rasta, Tinku, and the Sexy Ladies raised temperatures at the Arena.

Promoter Lord Eddie Coleman had great ideas to entertain boxing lovers; however, he needs to improve upon his act so that we can rate him in the ranks of Legacy Rise Sports. Bishop Promotions and Box Office.

The fight was well attended, but corporate Ghana must come in to support and sponsor because the people love the game. Sports Education and Management (SEM) Promotions cannot do it alone. They need assistance to organise better programmes.

They have to work on time management and strategic planning.

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBAdeserves some commendation for ensuring adherence to protocols and effective but friendly security by the Military Police.
