Ghana Boxing IMC To Continue With Health Screening Of Professional Boxers At Lapaz Community Hospital On May 27 & 28

As part of the commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of all licensed boxers under our extended mandate, the Ghana Boxing Interim Management Committee (GBIMC) under the leadership of chairman Samir Captan in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Recreation (MoSR), the National Sports Authority (NSA) and a new secured Sponsor wishes to announce PART II of the Health Screening Exercise organized in November 2025 for All Boxers.

The details are as follows:  Date: Wednesday, 27th & 28th May 2026

Processing: JamesTown Police Station (Time: 8:00 AM Each Day)

Hospital: Lapaz Community Hospital (La Paz)

According to Mr. Gideon Oyiadzo, aka Jingles, who is the coordinator of the GBIMC, buses would be provided for boxers’ comfort, with All Tests also fully paid for by a Sponsor.

He said the registration starts on 25th May 2026 at Jamestown Police Station (10 am – 4 pm each day)

He noted that all active boxers must participate fully in order to be captured in the newly developed database of the GBIMC to be handed over to the new GBA Executive Board.

This exercise has the same mandatory medical tests prescribed by the Sub Committee on Medical, Safety, and Anti-Doping, necessary to ensure boxers are fit to compete safely. Kindly note that the previous tests taken by the first batch of boxers who participated in the first exercise are still valid; however, evaluations on a fight-by-fight basis will be the basis for additional tests where necessary.

Your health is our priority, and this initiative is part of our broader initiative to promote athlete safety, longevity, and professionalism in Ghanaian boxing. Please bring along a valid form of identification and your GBA license card (expired or not).
