Hon. Michael Nii Kpakpo Allotey, the Mayor of Accra, has promised to give out 30 slots of employment at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) to interested members of the National Armwrestling team, the Golden Arms, for their feat in winning the 15th African Armwrestling Championship.
He made the promise at a reception at his official residence at Ridge in Accra.
According to Hon. Allotey, he is an action man because he has very few words and believes in talking and doing. He noted that most youth are unemployed, so he has offered the opportunity and would form a club/team to represent the AMA to compete in national tournaments.
He congratulated Team Ghana, aka The Golden Arms, for winning the golden trophy with 168 medals, comprising 71 gold, 63 silver, and 34 bronze
The Golden Arms have also qualified for the next African Games in Egypt.

Mr. Charles Osei Asibey, President of the Africa and Ghana Armwrestling Federation, thanked the Mayor for fulfilling his promise within a short time and presented a plaque to the Mayor signifying 10 years of existence.
