Robert Nii Amartey Tagoe of Attoh Quarshie Boxing Club is the only boxer representing Ghana at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.
The 17-year-old student of Accra Sempe JHS is ambitious to make a name for himself, his family, and his nation.
He feels proud as the only boxer, and gives him pressure to perform, as the community in which he comes from loves boxing success, and he has been highly tipped to do well. He will compete in the 70kg category.
Over 200 countries will participate in the Youth Olympic Games, which is coming to Africa for the first time.
The age category for athletes is between 13 and 17 years.
