Black Stars hailed for classic performance against Mali in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

Many Ghanaians have congratulated the Black Stars management committee for the massive work done, Dr Randy Abbey, Stephen Appiah, Dr Nsekyire, Samuel Aboabri aka ‘Kata’ and Moses Armah planned and managed affairs in a positive different and nice style to see the team playing so well and showing teamwork, hard work and commitment to secure the vital 3 points against strong Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA), led by Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku and his exco, has also done well and must be commended, just like Yaw Ampofo Ankrah and the National Sports Authority (NS). who directed new strategies to ensure safety and security for football fans.

Hon Kofi Adams and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation provided the necessary logistics and support, as well as encouragement and motivation to the Black Stars players to excel.

For the media, though some were skeptical and hopeless due to the team’s previous performance, most Ghanaian journalists were optimistic about qualifying for the World Cup.

The coordination of the GFA, NSA, and SWAG for accreditation was superb.

The massive attendance at the stadium by the National Supporters Union, who slaughtered a ram and prayed for divine intervention before the match, and the entire  Ghanaian populace from all walks of life, tells how the Ghanaian people love football and admire the Black Stars.

The entire nation must be hailed for the maximum spiritual and physical support by showing the rekindled love.

For the Black Stars, they played well as a team, compact and tight in defence, with great Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare marshalling his forces to be focused throughout the game and showing classic leadership qualities.

Captain Jordan Ayew was superb with his accurate corner kick that resulted in the only goal scored by darling defender Alexander Djiku.

Enterprising Caleb Yirenkyi was also amazing with his tackling and explosive offensive moves.

Kwasi Sibo expressed his mighty presence in midfield in his first cap, while Mohammed Kudus was at his usual fantastic display.

Antoinne Semenyo was cool on the day because he was closely marked by the Malians.

Thomas Partey was on top of his game, pushing his forwards.

Jonas Adjetey proved he can stand the test but needs to have more playing time to jell, backing Mohammed Salisu.

Coach Otto Addo also displayed his courage by introducing new blood in the final stages of the exciting match.

Now the Black Stars sit on top of their group with 19 points, but there must be no room for complacency.

Ghana must finish hard in the final lap by winning the next two matches to secure a safe berth to the 2026 World Cup to be hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
