Three people were injured during the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration in Kasoa, with one in a critical state.
Rival groups from Odupongkpehe Zongo and Walantu in the central part of Kasoa clashed during a street carnival during the Eid celebration.
The fasting period prevented them from clashing, and the community leaders’ intervention also settled the matter.
A female victim said, “I was having fun with my friends when the violence suddenly erupted. I then felt a sharp cut on my hand.”
The police arrested one person who is detained and assisting in investigations at the police station in Kasoa. The police also retrieved dangerous weapons from the crime scene.
