Ahmed Suale’s murder suspect has been charged with abetment and murder

The prime suspect in the murder of the Investigative Journalist Ahmed Suale has been charged with the offences of abetment to commit murder and murder.

On Wednesday, April 2, Chief Inspector Nana Afua Bamfo told the court that the suspect, Daniel Koranteng, led two other alleged suspects to the home of Ahmed Suale, where he was shot and killed. Daniel Koranteng is now facing charges of aiding and abetting to commit murder and murder.

Following the brief facts of the case, in June 2018, former Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong broadcasted images of Ahmed Suale on Net2 TV, calling for retribution against the investigative journalist.

The deceased’s image was published on January 16, 2019. After which he was shot and killed in Madina.

The accused is said to have known the possible hideouts of the deceased, and that’s how he led two other suspects to the house/ hideouts of the deceased where he was shot and killed.”

Counsel for the accused, led by Kofi Essel Hackman, pleaded the court to grant his client bail since he’s been in custody since March 12.

The Prosecution objected to the bail application, stating that investigations were ongoing and that releasing the accused on bail would compromise it.
