The University of Ghana Sports Stadium at Legon will be the venue for the dicey 2025/2026 MTN FA Cup final on Sunday, May 31, between Nations FC and Dreams FC.
The football competition has lived up to its slogan ‘Obiayeobia,’ and there have been shocks and surprises over the years.
The final, like all finals organised by title sponsor MTN, has been exciting and rewarding because football fans get the opportunity to win prizes.
MTN has special packages for football fans who will troop to the stadium.
Will Dreams FC win their second MTN FA Cup trophy, or will Nations FC make history by lifting their first MTN FA Cup title on Sunday?
Dreams FC reached the final for the first time in the 2022-23 season and secured a 2-0 victory over King Faisal.
Nations FC secured a 1-0 victory over Aduana FC in the MTN FA Cup semi-final and will now face Dreams FC on Sunday at the University of Ghana Stadium in the final.
The Abrankese-based side suffered relegation from the Ghana Premier League on the final day of the season last week, but they now have the opportunity to end the campaign on a high note by winning the MTN FA Cup and giving their supporters something to celebrate.
Their standard home grounds are an example for all football clubs, so it is sad that a club with massive investment got relegated and is out of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
Nations FC has the sympathy of many football fans, but if they are not serious, Dreams will make their historic second FA Cup triumph a reality.
Their journey to the final has been very impressive, going past Semper Fi, Asanska FC, Inter Allies, Heart of Lions, and finally beating Medeama in a tough semi-final duel at the Swedru Sports Stadium.
Both clubs have some good players to watch. Just be at the UG Legon Stadium on Sunday to feed your eyes with good football.
Razak Simpson will display in defence and midfield for the Nations, while John Antwi will lead the Dreams FC attack.
