Grandmaster of Ghana Table Tennis, Derek Abrefa, has presented Table Tennis equipment to the national female team,m who were in London to participate in the World Championships.
Hesaida, id “Table tennis opened doors and opportunities for me that I never imagined. I was once that kid, too, passionate, but lacking resources.
I’ve been privileged to represent my country and seen how sport transforms lives. But legacies aren’t built on medals alone. They’re built on who you trust.”..
“I believe God blesses us so it can flow through us to others. So this donation isn’t about me. I’m praying this helps, and that one day we see a kid from these clubs on the Olympic stage,e” he stated.
Derek Abrefa is a player many of our young and upcoming athletes look up to — he’s more than a player to us, he is a role model. He continues to prove himself as someone worth emulating by showing that sport is not just about competing, but also about love and unity.
This generous donation will go a long way in helping a child reach their potential, following in the footsteps of our legend, Derek Abrefa, who continues to inspire us on the world stage.
Abrefa was a multiple winner of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards.
He has represented Ghana in several international tournaments and feels the future is bright for the young players coming up.
