The official “Tour du Ghana 2025” is a major cycling event that will take place from November 13th to 24th, 2025, featuring eight stages from the Greater Accra to Eastern, Volta, Ashanti, and Oti regions.
According to Alhaji Shabaan Mohammed, Secretary General of the Ghana Cycling Federation, the event, organized by the Ghana Cycling Federation, will involve 12 international teams, some from the USA, Europe, and neighbouring countries like Benin, Nigeria, Togo, Burkina Faso, and Cote d’Ivoire. The event is designed to be a mix of sports and cultural exploration.
In an exclusive interview with Omashi TV, he provided details about the program, which begins on November 13 with arrivals.
He expressed that the main official start, which is the flagging of the race, will be done on November 15 by the President of the Republic of Ghana, and the cycling will move out of Accra to other regions and end the tour on November 24, 2025.
He noted that the 10th edition is a special edition, so it has been linked to promote tourism, and many tourist sites would be visited.
Shabaan Mohammed thanked key sponsors like MTN Ghana, Stanbic Bank Ghana, Promasidor, and Verna Mineral Water by Twellium Ghana Ltd. He acknowledged the support of the Seat of Government (The Presidency), the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), and the National Sports Authority (NSA).
He also commended the media for their wonderful support in promoting and giving much publicity to the Tour du Ghana 2025.
He was accompanied by Mr. Seidu Sulley, a veteran cyclist and bicycle repairer, who advised that drivers and other road users should respect cyclists because,e aside from sport, it is a means of transportation.
He urged the Police and security agents to support and aid cyclists, especially during the Tour.
