Mamfe Methodist Girls SHS shine at 2025 Africa Tug Of War Championship in South Africa with 5 medals

Ghana, represented by Mamfe Methodist Girls Senior High School, won two (2) silver medals and three (3) bronze medals at the recent 2025 African Tug of War competition held in Kimberley, South Africa.

They represented at both club and national levels and were a delight to watch with their expert pulling strategies.

“We are very much grateful to everyone who supported and prayed for us to go and return successfully with laurels,” said the President of the Ghana Tug of War Association, Mr. Emmanuel Olla Williams.

The team returned home on Tuesday, June 17, and will be showing the medals to the Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES) and others on Friday, June 20.

The medals won at Club Level with 24 Teams participating are 500KG – Silver, 560kg – Bronze, 540 kg – Bronze, 600kg Mx – Bronze.

In the African Championship with Eight Teams at the Under-23 Women’s 500KG competition, Ghana took Silver Medals while the host nation, South Africa, won the Gold.
