Kim Lars Bjorkegren targets WAFCON return as Black Queens face Egypt in crucial qualifier

Black Queens head coach, Kim Lars Björkegren, has expressed strong confidence in his team’s ability to secure qualification for the next Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) as they prepare to face Egypt in a crucial qualifier scheduled for October 23, 2025.
Björkegren shared his delight at reuniting with his players after several months apart, emphasizing the bond and spirit within the team to come together as a really strong group to perform well on the pitch and have so much fun off the pitch as well. We are in a good place. Thee coach also acknowledged that while preparation has been limited, the team’s morale and enthusiasm remain high as they gear up for the Egyptian challenge.
Björkegren further outlined what fans can expect from his side, highlighting the team’s resilience, commitment, and never-say-die attitude—qualities that have defined the Black Queens in recent times which the Black Queens will return home to host Egypt in the second leg of the tie on Sunday in Accra, as they aim to advance to the next stage of the WAFCON qualifiers and continue their resurgence under Björkegren.
