
The much-anticipated Homowo FightFest 2026 at Abelemkpe was launched at the studios of GHOne on Monday.
Dr. Edward Osei, Founder and Chairman of PKO Group of Companies, welcomed guests and assured them of a show to reward his roots and boxing/sports fans at Abelemkpe with an all-inclusive experience of boxing parading juvenile, female, amateur, and professional boxing, as well as adaptive boxing, plus tradition, culture, creativity, and a professional entertainment experience.
He revealed that Camido, Akatakye and Nii Funny will entertain guests with music.
Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong, General Manager, EIB Network, supported the inclusivity and gender balance on the bill and promised that GHOne will always be there for unique sports initiatives.
Abu Samba, President, Ghana Adaptive Boxing Federation (GHABF), urged sports fans to come to the show and see wheelchair boxing, also known as adaptive boxing, to entertain themselves.
Mr. Frederick Pappoe, Former Vice Chairman, GFA, expressed that boxing has been his other sports passion like any Ga person, and taking the game outside Bukom is the practical meaning of spreading the sport for others to enjoy.
He urged boxing fans to patronise the tickets and buy for others as the proceeds will go to charity.
These special guests performed the unveiling live on television and answered questions from journalists.
The Masters of the ceremony delivered graciously and expertly.
The launch of Homowo FestNight 2026 attracted some boxers like Prince Kamaldeen Mohammed, aka ‘The Northern Assassin’, who fights for the World Boxing League (WBL) Africa title, and juvenile boxer 12-year-old Rahman Lokko, as well as Ebenezer Koleba, aka Ring Master, a boxer born and bred at Gbese who is also happy that boxing is moving around to various places.
