Abigail Quartey gets the opportunity to fight for the Commonwealth Super Bantamweight title in Scotland

Ghana’s first ever female world champion, Abigail Quartey (10-1, 7 KOs) who said she is hungry for fights books a date for the Commonwealth Super Bantamweight Silver title against the UK’s Cassidy ‘Hotrod’ Todd at the Lagoon Leisure Centre, Paisley, Scotland on 29 May, 2026  at The Lagoon Leisure Centre.

Quartey was on Omashi TV’s flagship sports programme, ‘The Big Fight Night,’ to declare her resignation or withdrawal from the management of Solomon Otoo due to inactivity and lack of fights.

She requested a new manager who knows a lot about boxing to propel her well into a blossoming future.

“I have not fought since I won the IBF world title, and I can not keep on training without a fight,” she said on air.

But lucky as she is, an opportunity has come her way, and she will fight Cassidy Todd of the United Kingdom.

For Abigail Quartey, it is time for business, and she hopes to deliver.  Kwartekaa, as she is also known, became the first female world boxing champion from Ghana on 18 November 2024, defeating British boxer Sangeeta Birdi to win the WIBF World Super Bantamweight title at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.

Trained by Coach Killer, aka Eben Adjei of the Black Panthers Gym, the team is hungry for success and hopes to deliver again.
