Health Talk: Registered Dietitian Regina Mensah Promotes Healthy Eating

Dietitian Regina Mensah has encouraged the public to adopt healthy eating habits.

Speaking on the Morning Show’s (Leebi Nulami) Health segment on Omashi TV, Dietitian Regina emphasized the importance of eating a balanced diet that contains all the essential nutrients the body needs for growth, energy, and protection against diseases. She noted that healthy eating is one of the most effective ways to maintain good health and improve overall well-being.

Regina Mensah explained that a balanced diet should contain different food groups, including carbohydrates, proteins, fruits, vegetables, vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats. She stressed that consuming a variety of foods helps the body receive the nutrients required for proper growth, strength, and effective functioning.

She encouraged individuals and families to make healthier food choices by including nutritious meals in their daily diets. According to her, good nutrition plays a major role in strengthening the immune system, improving energy levels, and reducing the risk of many health conditions.

The Dietitian also advised parents and caregivers to pay attention to the nutritional needs of children by providing meals that support healthy growth, brain development, and overall well-being.

She also explained that weather conditions can influence food choices. She advised people to stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of water and eating fruits during hot weather, while choosing warm, nourishing meals during colder conditions.

Adding that the body requires proper nutrition and enough fluids to cope with weather changes. She encouraged the public to choose foods that provide comfort, energy, and important nutrients during different seasons.

She further warned about the dangers of food-borne diseases, urging the public to practice proper food hygiene by washing hands regularly, cooking food thoroughly, storing food safely, and avoiding contaminated meals.

Dietitian Regina explained that poor food handling, unsafe preparation methods, and consuming contaminated food can expose individuals to illnesses. She therefore called on households, food vendors, and restaurants to maintain proper hygiene standards when preparing and serving food.

Regina Mensah also encouraged people to be careful when purchasing food items and ensure that fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients are properly washed and handled before consumption.

The Dietitian encouraged individuals and families to pay attention to portion sizes and make healthy nutrition a daily habit to reduce the risk of illness and live healthier lives.

She explained that eating healthy does not always require expensive foods but involves making better choices with available resources. She advised people to plan their meals, avoid excessive intake of foods high in sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats, and focus on natural and nutrient-rich foods.

Regina Mensah further highlighted the importance of understanding individual nutritional needs, explaining that dietary requirements may differ depending on a person’s age, lifestyle, and health condition. She encouraged people to seek professional guidance when making major changes to their eating habits.

She also called on communities to take nutrition education seriously, noting that increased awareness about healthy eating can help prevent many avoidable health challenges.

Dietitian Regina urged food vendors and households to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safe food preparation practices to protect the public from food-related illnesses.

She concluded by encouraging everyone to make healthy eating a priority, stressing that good nutrition is an investment in the future. According to her, a healthy lifestyle begins with the choices people make about the food they consume every day.
