Home ownership scheme for Ghana Armed Forces personnel – President Mahama

President Mahama has unveiled plans to launch a Home Ownership for Ghana Armed Forces, as part of broader efforts to improve their welfare and long-term security.

Speaking at the Ghana Military Academy Graduation Ceremony for Regular Career Course 63 in Accra, Prez. Mahama said that one of the most vital needs of service members is inexpensive and decent housing.

“We’ll address the most pressing concerns of your troops, starting with the need for affordable housing,” he said. “We’ll focus on constructing new housing units in the barracks while abandoned military accommodations across the nation.”

He emphasized that no member of the Armed Forces should have to endure sub-standard living conditions. In response, the Armed Forces Home Ownership Scheme will be introduced to allow officers and soldiers to acquire private homes, either during or after active service.

“Mahama stated, we’ll establish the Armed Forces Home Ownership Scheme to provide officers and soldiers with the opportunity to own their own private homes across the country.”
