Former President Akufo-Addo blamed for NPP’s defeat in the 2024

Global Info Analytics conducted a post-election poll, for the huge NPP defeat in the 2024 general election and 68% of respondents who took part blamed former President Akufo-Addo.

They also blamed some NPP government officials responsible for the loss in the 2024 general election.

Per the result, 40% voters blamed Ken Ofori Atta, former Finance Minister and 37% blamed Dr Bawumia, former vice president. Moreover, 33% blamed Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh, and 32% blamed other government appointees, Members of Parliament were not left out as 25% of voters held them responsible for NPP’s defeat.

The poll also explained why President Mahama won the election . The results suggests that Dr Bawumia lost to John Mahama in the last weeks and days of the campaign. The poll shows, only 83% of voters who had intended to vote for Dr. Bawumia actually voted for him on the election day. Nearly 14% switched their votes to Mahama on the voting day, according to polling data and 3% broke out for other candidates.
