Joseph Commey, aka Jaguar, missed the finals of the 2026 IBA Africa Elite Men and Women Boxing Championship in Kinshasa after losing to Admolson Kevin of Cape Verde in the light welterweight semifinals.
Commey dominated the bout, but the Cape Verde boxers failed to qualify for the final.
Coach Charles Quartey does not understand how the judges scored because Commey was the better boxer.
For his effort, Commey will settle for bronze.
However, Amadu Mohammed is the only Ghanaian in the final of the exciting tournament.
By reaching the final, Amadu, aka Crawford Jr has guaranteed himself at least a silver medal ($10,000) and is fighting for the continental gold medal, which comes with a $20,000 prize from the IBA.
