Sod-Cutting Held For Sempe I Basic School Redevelopment Project

The redevelopment of Sempe I Basic School officially commenced with a sod-cutting ceremony in the Odododiodoo Constituency, attended by government officials, traditional leaders, party executives, and members of the local community.

Speaking at the ceremony, former Accra Mayor and Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South, Hon. Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, described the project as a major investment in the future of children in the community. He stressed that quality education begins with safe, modern learning facilities and urged all stakeholders to support the project’s successful completion.

The Mayor of Accra, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, reaffirmed the Accra Metropolitan Assembly’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure across the capital. He noted that the redevelopment of Sempe I Basic School forms part of efforts to provide a conducive environment for teaching and learning.

Member of Parliament for Odododiodoo, Hon. Alfred Ashie Kotey, assured residents that the project reflects the government’s commitment to improving education in the constituency. He called on the contractor to deliver quality work within the stipulated timeframe.

Assembly Member for Kinka Electoral Area, Hon. Carlos Mankhata, expressed excitement over the commencement of the project, saying the new school would transform education in the area and create a better learning environment for pupils and teachers.

The NDC Women’s Organizer for the Odododiodoo Constituency also welcomed the initiative, describing it as a significant milestone for the community and a step toward improving educational opportunities for future generations.

Residents, parents, and community members expressed joy during the ceremony, saying they have waited many years for the redevelopment of the school. They thanked the authorities for responding to their concerns and expressed hope that the project would be completed on schedule to benefit current and future generations.
