Nuru Pardie and Samira Zongo share honours at inaugural 2026 Bahati Cycling Classic

48-year-old veteran cyclist Nuru Pardie emerged as the winner of the inaugural 2026 Bahati Cycling Classic, which took place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday at Osu in Accra.

The experienced rider claimed victory in the first-ever men’s edition of the Bahati Cycling Classic, completing the race in 1:21:28.

Samira Zongo, 20, from Burkina Faso, won the female category of the Bahati Cycling Classic women’s race.

The young cyclist completed the 16.5km distance in 29 minutes, 34.03 seconds to secure the victory.

The Ghana Police Service Cycling Team delivered an impressive performance at the maiden edition of the Bahati Cycling Race, held on Sunday, 12th July 2026, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The competition attracted cyclists from Ghana, Burkina Faso, Jamaica, and the United States, creating an exciting atmosphere of international competition and sportsmanship.

The Ghana Police Cycling Team proudly represented the Service and recorded commendable results:

Abigail Mensah finished in 2nd place, narrowly behind the winner from Burkina Faso.

Medals and prizes were presented to the outstanding athletes by Shaaban Mohammed, Secretary-General of the Ghana Cycling Federation, together with officials of the Bahati Cycling Race Organising Committee.
