Mubarak Amarh – National Amateur Boxing Champion In Waiting “Going For Gold”

Ebony black handsome boxer from Osu, Mubarak Amarh, says he is a champion in waiting for the 2026 National Individual Amateur Boxing Championship.

He faces a tough challenger, Abdul Waha,b who is also in the final from the Sonia Gym in Accra.

But the enlightened product of Peki SecTec and Accra Technical University (Civil Engineering) graduate says he has prepared very well at the Seconds Out Gym under the tutelage of Coach Danny and Kuche,ku who discovered the talent while jogging at the beach.

According to the aggressive light heavyweight Mubarak Nii Amertey Amarh, his family members initially did not like his venture into boxing when he started at the Will Power Boxing Clin at Jamestown.

However, he has to decide on boxing and hopes to achieve greatness for himself and his country, Ghana.

“I have promised myself to excel to the highest level in amateur, lifting high the Ghana flag, before turning professional. I want to add boxing to my life because boxing loves me,” he stated.

His idol is Japanese World Bantamweight superstar, Naoya Inoue, while among the Ghanaian world champions, he loves the defensive style of Joshua Clottey, the ‘Hitter’ aka ‘Grandmaster’, former IBF Welterweight Champion.

Amarh expressed much gratitude to the Seconds Out Boxing Gym for their technical and logistical support.

His coach, Danny, appealed for athletes’ sponsorship to be improved and cut across as some superstars are hidden in the lesser-known sports.

He also appealed to the media to give ample time to boxing, boxers, coaches, and gyms or clubs.

They commended Yours Truly, GTV, UTV, Omashi TV, and Max TV for promoting boxing frequently.

The Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) Individual Amateur Boxing Championship is scheduled for Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
