
The Ga Mashie Development Agency (GAMADA), which has been mandated by the Accra Metropolitan Authority (AMA) to discover and develop talent at Ga Mashie have expressed interest in supporting the Federation and related organisations like the Coaches Association and other partners.
Executive Director, Dr. Alfred Dodoo, and his board met with the Ghana Boxing Federation andthe sister of the Ghana Ambassador to South Korea, Ms. Christana Choi, who has promised to support Ghana Boxing.
Present at the meeting were Mr. Lee, who is a Korean interested in Ghana Boxing, and Vice President Nii Gonti Adjor 1, aka Nii Adama Addy. Mr. Solomon Otoo Lartey, the Second Vice President, Executive Member Ms. Sarah Lotus Asare, Treasurer, Mustapha Nettey, Secretary of GBF, Emilia Coach, and Dr. Ofori Asare.
Dauda Fuseni said the meeting is unprecedented, historic, and special as boxers from all over Ghana come together. He noted that the branding, transparency, and regional integration agenda have started.
“The public must know what we do, giving opportunities to everyone, boxers and coaches,” he said.
He advised boxers not to be swollen-headed and too sure, but to prepare well against complacency. He welcomed more competitions around the regions to promote the rebranding agenda.
He announced that the preliminary round of the championship is from Friday,30th January, and the final at a later date by the end of February.
He urged boxers to present a good show to make the event attractive.
“Due to poor packaging, amateur boxing lacks corporate support,” he said.
The 2026 Amateur Boxing Championship is sponsored by Twellium Industries, Freight Consult, Base Pharmaceuticals, Promasidor, Madar Soap, Guinness Ghana, and others. The media partners are Omashi Media, Joy Sports, BoxingGhana, Ibox360, and Ghana Boxing News.
He assured that the GBF is taking health, medical, and safety matters seriously and taking all precautions to give a good show. “We are changing the narrative,” he said.
The GBF President expressed that boxing has done much and achieved most among all sports disciplines.
Dr. Alfred Dodoo, CEO of GAMAD, said Boxing is the heritage of the Ga people and will come out with partners to support Ghana Boxing, like the Chinese community and other diaspora people who want to contribute.
Ms Christiana Choia, a model of a brand in China, said she wishes to support and take Ghana Boxing to a higher level.
Mr. Lee from Korea expressed interest in cultural exchange.
Ms Choi said she wants to take Ghana Sports, especially boxing, to greater heights.
Mr. Lee said the massive talent in Ga Mashie must be polished and exported to rake in revenue and happiness among the people.
