The Association of Women in Sports – Ashanti Region has proudly made donations at the just-ended Ashanti Regional Super Zonal Schools Competition.
The support was extended to the three outstanding performing schools in the girls’ division and the most promising young female athlete.
This was done as part of our commitment to promote and encourage female participation in sports.
Meanwhile, Madam Joyce Mahama, President of WOSPAG, the women’s sports Association of Ghana, who is also responsible for the welfare of the youth in sports, condemned the unacceptable and disappointing behaviour of the violence involving students of Obrachire Senior High School.
“We, as mothers of the youth, do wholeheartedly apologize for the shameful act. We promise to cate the youth in Sports to be law-abiding. Thank you,” she said.
In another development, the WOSPAG is planning to organise a seminar/ workshop for its members in the regions.
According to Mrs. Joyce Mahama, things are happening around the world and also in Ghana everytime and members should be abreast with current situations in sports.
