Nii Martey Dzata Obrempong I, Teshie Obeden Mantse, and Acting Teshie Atofotse have called on the Ghana Boxing fraternity to extend the promotions to other regions in the country.
He hoped that promoters would consider pitching Worldwide against Freezy Macbones in Kumasi, the Garden City, to promote regional balance and fairness because the first bout was held in Accra, where Worldwide enjoyed home support.
Nii Martey Dzata Obrempong 1, who was the Special Guest of Honour and Chairman of the press launch for the Resurrection Fight Night, which came off at the Laboma Beach Resort on Thursday, said Ghana must get a world champion by 2028, and he believes the likes of Jonathan Tetteh, Joseph Commey, Alfred Lamptey, Emmanuel Quartey, and Seth Gyimah aka Freezy Macbones can hit the world ranks and become world champions.
The chief commended the promotions and sponsors, calling on others to come on board.
Co-promoter Alex Ntiamoah Boakye said both Freezy and Worldwide must win their impending bouts and will clash for the rematch fixed for August.
The Resurrection Fight Night on Easter Sunday, April 5, will feature Jonathan Tetteh, aka Worldwide, versus Abdul Aziz Quartey for the National Light heavyweight title.
Freezy Macbones, aka Seth Gyimah, will fight a Nigerian Jamil Animashaun in an international light heavyweight fray.
Michael Abban, the ambitious Commonwealth titleist, is on the bill against Damien Zannou, likewise Benjamin Lamptey versus Kamaradeen Boyefio, and others like Nana Adjei Clinton
Former WBC Youth Champion, Alfred Lampte,y will be busy against experienced form-world-rated Maxwell Awuku. At the same time, National and UBO Lightweight Champion Joseph Commey, aka Jaguar, will take on Bright Ayala.
Dr. Albert Tetteh Botchway. CEO of RBS Promotions (RBS Boxing), a new boxing promotions outfit based in Ghana, which is collaborating with Alex Ntiamoah Boakye’s Box Office Promotions, said Ghana has quality boxers who can become world champions.
He noted that RBS Promotions will add touch to enhance cultural sports tourism and boost business opportunities. He also feels Ghana must be able to produce a world champion in two years.
Other representatives of Laboma Beach Resort and Amsterdam Coffee Shop, including the Marketing Manager, addressed the Press Launch.
