Mubarak Amarh Makes Record At National Individual Championship

Mubarak Amarh, a product of Seconds Out Boxing Gym, recorded three knockdowns in one round, and the referee had no choice but to stop the fight in his last bout against Abdul Wahab of Sonia Gym to clinch gold at the final of the 2026 National Individual Amateur Boxing Championship.

He predicted victory before the bout, and he trained well for it.

Coach Danny Aryee Quaye said they prepared well and are very happy to get the opportunity to represent Ghana at the international level.

“My dream is the Olympic Games, but the Commonwealth Games will serve as a preparation ground to gain international games experience,” he said.

Amarh is a graduate in civil engineering from the Accra Technical University.

He revealed that his family initially did not like his idea to box, but now that they have understood him, he is blessed and vowed to make a name for himself and the family.

Amarh is from Osu, but loves to stay around Jamestown and Bukom because of boxing.

He is cool in town but a terror in the ring. Some people have started calling him ‘The Professor’ because he also combines education and sports.

His bout was stopped by the referee to ensure safety in sports.

“Safety comes first in amateur boxing,” said Nii Gonti Adjor I, aka Nii Adama Addy, Vice President of the Ghana Boxing Federation.

He hinted that the GBF provided all safety requirements and made sure protocols were met.
