
Sunday, November 30. 2025 will be remembered by the people living in Kokomba at the Agbogbloshie Yam Market for potters, also called Kayayei.
The Kayayei Games Club Association was founded by a benevolent and sociable personality with the support of many other sports and development-oriented people in the community.
The inauguration saw the exhibition of musical talent by some of the popular musicians, including Selection On, after an aerobics and functional fitness session led by Charles Owusu Ansah and his lieutenants.
Mr. Emmanuel Olla Williams, President of the Ghana Tug of War Association, was also adequately represented, as well as the Minister of Sports and Recreation, by Madam Hannah Yusif Hassan. She commended the organisers and congratulated the winners.
Mr Mark Quarshie represented the Director General of the National Sports Authority, and he addressed the benefits of Sports and Recreation.
At the end of a thrilling and exciting pull competition, Tug of War, Kanjoo, and Benafed won 2-0 against Bigben/ Naoloio and Nankpalrib.
The winners and runners-up got refreshments and cash prizes.
Zeinab, who led the second-placed team, said they just got information on the event at the last minute, but decided to participate; however, they hope to learn the rules, get the right outfit, and train well to win the next competition.
Meanwhile, another event has been fixed for the end of December to see who rules Agbogbloshie.
