In the season of the gold, Chorkor Chemuanaa-based division one side, Golden Kick FC, wants to make football history by claiming the prestigious FA Cup sponsored by telecommunications giant, MTN.
They face the experienced, fabulous and explosive Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the final af the MTN FA Cup at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Sunday, June 15, 2025.
The road to the final has not been easy, especially for Golden Kic, who edged out big clubs like perennial winners Accra Hearts of Oak, Atrram DeViss, and Karela FC in the tough stages of the Knockout competition.
Asante Kotoko also had to beat Berekum Chelsea and True Democracy, and Sekondi Eleven Wise in the semi-quarter finals and one-eighth stage before making it to this crucial stage.
The winner will not take home the trophy, medals, and cash prize, but will represent Ghana at the CAF Confederations Cup competition.
Already, coaches and players of both Kotoko and Golden Kick have come out to express their thoughts and ideas on how to win.
Coach Abdul Karim Zito of Kotok has to get something to show why he left Dreams FC during the season when competitions were going on.
Fiifi Parker Hanson, the Chief Executive Director / Coach / Technical Director of Golden Kick Sporting Club, known for his tactical approaches and strategic planning, is very optimistic that they will present another shocker like they did against Hearts of Oak.
The Golden Kick coach has already proved that he is capable, and victory will place him in another class, so he will go to the extreme to excel.
Mumuni, a top player of Golden Kick, said that after defeating two premier division sides, they fear no intimidation and are going all out to enjoy themselves on the field.
GoldenKickk wants to emulate Nania FC, a DOL club that beat Kotoko to win the FA Cup in 2011.
While they want to feel the cup for the first time, Kotoko want their 10th victory in the history of the competition.
MTN Ghana and the Ghana Football Association have a special package for lucky fans who will be at the Legon (UG) Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Bibiani Gold Stars, the Ghana Premier League (GPL) winners, will face the FA Cup winner in the Champion of Champions.
