Dauda Fuseni and GBF board get thumbs up for organising successful 2026 National Individual Open Championship

Dauda Fuseni and his board members on the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) have been commended for organising the first national amateur boxing championship in six years, which attracted 145 boxers drawn from the north, west, east, and south of Ghana.

At the last championship held at the Accra Sports Stadium, fans caused mayhem and chaos, forcing the then organisers to be unable to continue.

Although Accra boxers dominated this year, it was an experience for boxers from Tamale, Cape Coast, Kumasi, and the Volta Region.

It must surprise somebody that many professional boxers were at the Bukom Boxing to watch the event, and they have commended allthe  President of the Ghana Boxing Federation, Dauda Fuseni, for his vision and his board, whose experience and expertise have yielded positive results.

The Big Fight Night, the flagship programme of Omashi TV, was presented at the Bukom Boxing Arena last Friday.

Among the boxers interviewed live were Emmanuel Addo aka Mosquito, Henry Malm aka Assassin Junior, Emmanuel ‘Mayeather’ Martey, Joseph Jaguar Commey, Precious Akai Nettey,  Solomon Sackey, Ebenezer Ankrah, Mubarak Amarh, and Coach Okoe of Black Panthers Gym.

Former world champions, Joseph Agbeko and Joshua Clottey, were also in the house.

The dignitaries who expressed their genuine views include Vice President of the GBF Nii Gonti Adjor I, Mr. Ernest Dan, the Chef du Mission for Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, Nana Adu Mankatah, board member, Nana Amponsh Adu-Gyamfi, 2nd Vice President Solomon Otoo Lartey, Bernard Quarte, and former President of the GBF, and Mr. Saka, a member of the Twellium Ghana Ltd marketing team.

Other VIPs who graced the event were the Development Chief of the Ga State, Nii Kojo Ashiefie Papanyir I, aka Ben Nunoo Mensah, a former President of the GOC, Hon. Alfred Kotey Ashie, MP for Odododiodoo Constituency, Coach Carl Lokko, and a Queen of Jamestown traditional area.

The 2026 Ghana Boxing Federation National Individual Amateur Boxing Championship was sponsored by Freight Consult, Madar Soap Twellium Industries, GAMADA, The Gym, Base Pharmacy, Cartel Rentals, and the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC).
