Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman, Paul Afoko, has described the vetting process for the party’s upcoming national chairman race as fair but firm.
Mr. Afoko made the remarks after successfully going through the vetting process, expressing confidence in the transparency and professionalism of the committee responsible for screening the aspirants.
According to him, although the process was rigorous, it provided a fair opportunity for candidates to present their credentials and demonstrate their preparedness to lead the party.
He said the firmness of the exercise was necessary to ensure that only qualified and committed aspirants progressed in the race.
Mr. Afoko’s comments come as the NPP prepares for its internal elections, with several candidates seeking to occupy key national positions and help shape the future direction of the party.
The former chairman has urged party members and supporters to remain united throughout the electoral process, stressing the importance of discipline and respect for the party’s internal democratic structures.
He believes a credible and peaceful internal election will be crucial to strengthening the NPP and positioning the party for future political contests.
