NPC Ghana President Samson Deen announces special bonus for para athletes

National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Ghana President Samson Deen has announced a Special Target Podium Medal Bonus for Ghana’s para athletes at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

A Gold medalist gets £3,000, a silver medalist will get £2,000, and a bronze winner goes home with £1,000

The first recipient is Zinabu Issah, who will receive £2,000 after winning Ghana’s first medal, a silver in the Women’s T57 Shot Put.

President Deen says the initiative is aimed at rewarding excellence, motivating athletes, and ensuring Ghana’s para stars receive the recognition they deserve.

He also revealed plans to expand the programme ahead of the LA28 Paralympic Games through the Follow My Athlete Scheme.
