As part of activities to add excitement and swag to the 2025/2026 MTN Cup Final, some selected bodybuilders ‘macho men dressed like kings were contracted to usher in the prestigious giant trophy to the University of Ghana Stadium at Legon last Sunday.
They posed and showed their lubricated bodies, leading one on a horse to enter the field to the admiration of football fans who watched Dreams FC losing on penalties to Nations FC.
Mr. Abdul Hayye Yartey, President of the Ghana Bodybuilding and Fitness Association and Cheetah FC, said football can be blended with bodybuilding, and they showcased that with beauty, royalty, class, and passion.
Some officials of MTN, the leading telecom company, also expressed their joy for the successful end of the 2025/ 2026 edition of the competition, which involves lower-tier clubs.
For the new champions, Nations FC, though they have been relegated from the Ghana Premier League, they have the opportunity to represent Ghana at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Cup tournament.
They have a beautiful stadium that can host their matches, and they must try to keep their players for a possible return to the elite game.
Nations FC made history as the second relegated club after Ho Voradep, who in 1992 defeated Neoplan Stars to win the FA Cup.
The club, founded in 1996, is based at Abrankese, Kumasi. They play at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, with a capacity of 12,000.
