Aspiring Second Vice President of GBA, Ellis Quaye, shares boxing ideas and vision

Ellis Quaye, a UK and Ghana-based engineer by profession who is contesting for the upcoming Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) Elections, says boxing is a school, and boxing people must keep on learning.

He noted that Ghana Boxing needs people who have the links to create world champions to make families rich.

The aspirant for the Second Vice President position wondered why there are no welfare packages for boxers and coaches in this modern age.

He promised to support by ensuring that Ghana Boxing is respected and Ghanaian boxers are rated to get an opportunity to crack at world titles.

The partner of Cabic Promotions said he supports Ivan Bruce Cudjoe, and they are coming to change the face of the game and business.

He hinted at working with several boxers, starting from David Odoi Tetteh aka Gbese Tyson, who won the Commonwealth title under his watch, Patrick Allotey, Richard Harrison, Kofi Kwei, Kofi Dana, Emmanuel Mankattah, Michael Darku, and others.

He expressed that Ghana still has potential for a World Champion. “I have followed boxing since I was a kid, travelling to Ghana, Europe, and the USA, and I have decided to come on board to contribute to changing lives for the better. Boxing is our game, business, and sport, so we should save it and make sure all stakeholders get the best,” he expressed.

According to Mr. Quaye, the media must promote boxing like they are doing for football, and they must be motivated to do more because Ghana has the potential to produce more world champions.

He urged the Ghana Boxing Authority delegates to vote wisely for change and betterment of the sport.
