
A 20-member contingent of amateur boxers (16 males and 4 females) is training at the Winneba Sports College ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games scheduled to take place from 23rd July to 2nd August, 2026.
The Technical Team is led by veteran boxing tacticians, Dr. Ofori Asare, Charles Quartey, and assisted by Daniel Lartekwei Lartey, amongst others.
Some of the Black Bombers in the intensive residential training camp at the National Sports College, Winneba (NSCW) are finalists of the 2026 national individual championship, including Isaac Asiedu, Desmond Pappoe, Mubarak Amarh, Zakaria Kamoko, George Dowuona, Ebenezer Ankrah, Samuel Sackey, Ibrahim Doku, James Okoh, Daniel Amoo, and others.
The upcoming Commonwealth Games, a multi-sport event, will be the 23rd edition for all former colonies of the United Kingdom (Great Britain), including Ghana. India, Canada, Jamaica, Kenya, and others.
The Commonwealth is made up of 56 independent member countries. It is a voluntary association spanning Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
