Black Panthers top boxer, Ebenezer Ankrah (Massive Champion), who won gold in the 60kg weight category at the recent Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) Individual Amateur Boxing Championship, has appealed to the authorities to update and publish records of amateur boxers at Boxrec.
In his final bout, he said his opponent, James Okoe aka ‘Tiger’ from the Wisdom Boxing Club, did not make the fight exciting because he kept on fouling and boxing roughly, as he was desperate in the ring.
“Okoe promised to turn the Bukom Boxing Arena upside down, but when he realised that I had taken round one, he was forced, but he made more mistakes in his defence, and I won simply. Anytime we meet, I will beat him,” he said.
Ankrah, who is a business student at Labone SHS, thanked his family and fans for their support. In the future, he said, the focus is now on the 2026 Commonwealth Games, where he is going for gold, and then the Olympic Games in 2028.
“Please allow me to show love and thank my two coaches, Ebenezer Adjei and Daniel Ankrah, for guiding me to glory. I am still basking in the glory,” he stressed.
