Coleman’s SEM Promotions returns to Bukom Boxing Arena on December 28

Enterprising boxing promoter/manager Eddie Coleman returns to the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday, December 28, 2025, with another bonanza as his ward, Musah Lawson (17-1), the national champion, takes on the West African ruler, Jacob Tetteh Laryea aka Chorkor Fire, for his WBO Africa Welterweight title.

Laryea (12-1) of the Bronx Gym suffered his first loss for the vacant African Boxing Union (ABU) Super Welterweight title against Jacques Tshikubu Muvud in Congo and wants a chance to redeem himself.

Coleman’s company, Sports Education Management (SEM), noted for organising mouth-watering bouts, is about to pull another big one with popular boxers on the bill. He said in an exclusive interview that SEM has learned a lot from previous experiences, and he hopes to organise better and on time.

He apologised to all who had been offended or troubled by his last promotion, which involved the late Ernest Akushey aka Bahubali and Jacob Dickson, which was well attended. Eddie Coleman thanked the Interim Management Committee of Ghana Professional Boxing and the National Sports Authority for bringing back the sport.

He acknowledged the need for reforms and recommendations to improve boxing organisation in Ghana, especially when it comes to medicals and doping, as well as ensuring very competitive fights for fans to enjoy.

According to him, the organisation of events to attract local and international tourists has always been his plan, and ahe nd promised to collaborate with the authorities in implementing the reforms.
